Introduction on Dynamics 365 Sales Insight Assistant Studio

You are currently viewing Introduction on Dynamics 365 Sales Insight Assistant Studio

A few months back, I wrote an article on the introduction to Sales Insight Cards when it was in preview mode. Now, as part of the October release, Microsoft has enveloped insight cards under Assistant Studio.
Using Assistant Studio, we can create and manage insight cards from within Dynamics 365. We don’t need to jump back and forth between MS Flow and Dynamics 365 to manage cards. To utilize the full capabilities of Assistant Studio and insight cards, we need to purchase Dynamics 365 Sales Insight licenses.
Let’s see what the difference between using Free Assistant and Assistant with advanced Sales Insight features.

Free Assistant

The free Sales Insights features—Assistant (free), Auto capture (free), and Email engagement (free)—are available for you along with Dynamics 365 Sales.

Assistant Studio with Advanced Capabilities

The advanced Sales Insights features include Assistant (full capabilities) with Studio, Notes analysis, Relationship analytics, Who knows whom, Predictive lead scoring, and Predictive opportunity scoring.

Create & Manage Insight Cards using Embedded Flow Editor

To create a new Insight Card from the Assistant Studio, we can:
1. Navigate to Assistant Studio, then Home and then click on Create a new insight card.
2. Navigate to Assistant Studio, then Insight cards and then click on New card.

Dynamics 365 Sales Insight provides us with a few templates to choose from, but we can always create the flow from blank. In this example, I am going to use the template named, If there are no updates to opportunity, show an assistant insight card.

Like any MS Flow, we need to set up our connections using our credentials. After that, we will proceed with designing of the Flow.

Now, all we have to do is provide the Card Name and other mandatory fields in the Dynamics 365 Sales Insight Card connector. We can also modify the flow as per our business requirements.

Remember, we can always create a MS Flow from blank and just by adding Dynamics 365 Sales Insight connector we will be able to see the card in Assistant Studio.

After saving and by clicking on the Back button, which could be Home or Insight Cards, we will be able to see the new Insight Card among the other cards.

Although we can create new Insight Cards from embedded Flow Editor, if we want to modify them we will be redirected to MS Flow for further modification. These modifications are async and we need to wait for a while for them to be reflected in the Assistant Studio.

I hope I have given you enough summary to think about this feature and you will consider checking it out. You can also check my old post to see details on how to create and manage insight cards.
Till next time, Cheers 😉
