So, I was able to clear one more certification last week.
After completing MB-600 exam last week, I would like to share my experience on how I prepared for this exam, and how this exam is different from other Power Platform exams. I will talk about what to study and why a high-level knowledge of major Power Platform components is important.
So, here is the basic information about the exam:

No. of Questions: 48 (this is how many I got)
Duration of Exam: 180 mins (210 mins including everything like a survey)
I was really happy with the amount of time they have allocated for this exam as some of us might need it to evaluate all the options before selecting correct answers. This exam is completely scenario based and hence, you need a lot of time to think and choose the correct option to solve the problem.
Remember, there are a variety of questions like Yes/No, Multi-choice, Drag & Drop and so on, but as a few of them are grouped together, we can’t navigate back once we answer them. Hence, we need to give those groups enough time before moving on to the rest of the questions.
1. Now who should pursue this exam? 🤔
As the name suggests, this exam is for someone who wants to become a Power Platform Solution Architect in the near future and wants to validate his knowledge by giving this exam.
Based on your experience and knowledge this could be the easiest or the toughest for you. It all depends upon your work experience in Power Platform and Dynamics 365, along with your knowledge on what’s the best possible to solve a requirement with least custom code, hence easy to maintain and upgrade.
I would recommend this exam to only those people who have a certain amount of experience and knowledge on Power Platform technology and has the capability to design a solution to meet the user requirements.
2. What does the MS Learning Path contains?
Well, like any other Microsoft exam, you can study “Architect solutions for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform” course as a starting point for this exam.
Let me be honest with you all. This course focus on the roles and responsibilities of a solution architect. You will not get any question directly from this course, but I encourage everyone to study it once.
It will help you understand the work of a solution architect and trust me this is more important than any exam. This exam is less focused on the final solution like how to write a Plugin or what formula should be used in Power Apps for formatting. This exam focuses on solution design level where all we need to focus on what technology, components, integration etc. are needed to meet the customer expectations.
3. Can we focus on specific area to clear this exam?
No. As I have said earlier, you will get very high-level questions from almost all different areas of Power Platform as you will only get scenario-based questions.
The focus is on Microsoft based technology like Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 and so on. The scenario-based questions might need you to choose the best possible way to solve a particular problem. It is not like for every problem we should write some code. Instead, the exam will validate like how can you design your system by using all the available OOB features, then ISV components (MS AppSource), and only then you should think about any custom implementation.
Hence if you have no experience or knowledge to tackle a problem, and how to best solve it using various components of Power Platform, I am afraid you might not be able to clear this exam. On the other hand, experienced professionals will be able to clear this exam without spending much time on study.
I got questions from Office 365, Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, Dynamics 365 and integration with other modules like F & O.
I hope people who are planning to pursue this exam, my journey and advice will help them to clear this exam with a high score.
