This is the second part of the post to guide you through the preparation for the MB-200 exam. If you haven’t read my earlier post, then click here.
In this post, I will explain to you about the changes in exam pattern compare to previous Dynamics exams. There are a few major changes in exam pattern and the type of questions. So let’s get started.
Before proceeding any further, I would to clear that these finding are of my own and it’s what I have experienced. There is no guarantee that you might face similar difficulties, but I hope this will at least prepare you for any unexpected questions.
Read all topics very carefully as in these exams you might see some unexpected/nontraditional questions compared to previous exams.
1. 48 Questions & 3 hrs of time
So, to begin with there will be 48 question but good new is there will be 3 hrs to answers all those questions. Believe me, with the change of pattern and types of questions, we need this extra minutes to concentrate on these question without worrying about time.
2. Questions based on Requirements, Current Situation & Problems
Now this is the most interesting part. As this exam is part of role-based certification for “Functional Consultant”, Microsoft has introduced new type of questions.
You might questions as follows:
- Requirement Based questions:
You will be provided with a small background of the customer, their requirement and issues. You need to understand the requirement as the answer to these questions should be able to fulfil that scenario. Which means while reading the question you might think that in general situations, the answer should be Option A but only in that scenario Option A is not applicable. - Current Situation & Problem-based questions:
You will be provided with a situation where there is a problem with an existing system or there is a problem with the current dynamics system. When I say problem, it means users are facing a problem or they have implemented new dynamics system but want to know how to make best out of it.
These questions are quite long sometimes, like a requirement document, so you need to make sure that you read every line very carefully.
3. Few questions are Bundled together
Now, if you have ever given any Dynamics exams in the past, you know that all the questions were independent to each other. You need to answer one question and then move on to the other.
What I found was that in new role-based exams, they have changed the pattern by bundling up few questions together. They all might be part of a bigger problem/scenario or same question with different options.
Remember, bundles questions are single unit. You have to answer them all before moving to next set of questions. You will not be allowed to review questions from one set after you have answered all or you moved on to answer another set of questions.
4. New question types other than Single & Multi-choice
Lastly, I have given many dynamics exams in the past and all the times question where single-choice or multi-choice, but now they have added a few new types of questions.
- True/False: You will see a single or bundle question where you have to answer in True/False. For me, I faced this type of questions where I have to answer same main question with different solution/approach and I have to choose True or False.
- Drag-drop Answers: In these kind of questions, you have to select correct answer from left hand side and drag it to the respective option in answer. Same answer can be used for different option within same question.
- List based Answers: After the main question, each option on the left hand will have a drop down list on the right with few options. You have to select one of them for each option. You can also say it is like one question have sub-questions.
Most important tip is read all the instruction carefully as it might be little tricky. Take your time before moving forward as you might not be able to return back.
That’s all from my end folks. Just remember practice as much as possible, read everything from Office 365 to Power Platform and you will be fine.
Best of luck and may the force be with you π…
