MB-210: Dynamics 365 for Sales – Preparation Guide

You are currently viewing MB-210: Dynamics 365 for Sales – Preparation Guide

Although I am still trying to get my head around how I did it, I finally cleared MB-210. Hence, I got my first badge from the latest Dynamics 365 certifications. I am now a Dynamics 365 for Sales Functional Consultant Associate. 😎
Now I would like to share my experience and insights with all of you so that you can get your copy of the new badge. Let’s get started.

If you have any experience in the Sales module or if you have given previous exams, you must be familiar with Lead Management, Opportunity Process and so on. So all I would recommend here that navigate to MB-210 exam page and study all topics mentioned one by one and practice.

Skills measured for MB-210

You should start your study from the course on Opendx, Dynamics 365 for customer engagement for Sales.

Dynamics 365 for customer engagement for Sales

Once you have completed the above course with enough hands-on, I guess you should be ready to clear the exam. Now, I would like to recommend a few areas where:
1. Either we don’t dig deep. We use them but for the exam, we need to carefully study each aspect.
2. We don’t use them much or not at all, especially if we are an on-premise user.

Key Areas I would recommend to study in detail:

1. Embedded Intelligence (successor of Relationship Insight)

No this is an important topic as it comprises most of the new AI-related topics like Relationship assistant, Email engagement and Auto capture.
Embedded intelligence is a suite of features which continuously analyze the vast collection of customer-interaction data already stored in your Dynamics 365 for Sales and Microsoft Exchange databases, to help you better understand your business relationships, evaluate your activities concerning previous successes, and choose the best path forward.

2. Business Process Flow

I know we all have read and used BPF, especially after clearing the MB-200 exam. But that was about customization and configuration of BPF and here we need to concentrate on usage like time spent on an opportunity using BPF. So check all the aspect once again, especially in a Sales context.

3. Record Creation Rules

Now, this is one topic we might have used but we don’t remember the configurations we do or we don’t use them as they can’t match our business’s complex requirements. Guess what, start working on this topic and configurations as you will see some interesting questions on this.

4. Multi-Currency Setup

Out-of-the-box currency setup in Dynamics 365 may not be very sophisticated, but it does allow the set up of multiple currencies. Majority of Dynamics client don’t have multi-currency setup and hence many of us forget about the configuration. I got a scenario-based set of questions on currency so I would recommend you to study this topic.

5. Sales Insights (successor of Social Engagement)

Last but not least the Sales AI topic. It’s all about AI these days and Dynamics 365 has introduced a lot of few features including Sales AI. All I would like to recommend is that study both Social Engagement and Sales AI topic as I not sure from where does the question would come. Also, I personally pursue certification to gain knowledge on the latest topics, so study them both. Most likely you will get 1-2 question related to this topic and I got it on Social Engagement. Sales AI is new and most likely you might not see any question in this until the next revision of exam topics.

Well, that’s all from my end. I hope this would help you to bring your focus on underrated topics and you all will get your badge soon.
Till then, Cheers! 😉
